When I was young in Hong Kong, I lived near the beaches and sea. I always liked to take my dogs to walk on the seashore and watch the waves and sunset. I felt the ocean’s waves were so powerful and had a lot of energy. When the sun was behind it, it looked like a window - I could see though the window of the wave. It was so beautiful! When I paint the wave picture, I can hear it! I can see so many sparkles in the wave. When I was a child in Hong Kong, resin was popular art. I learned it when I was in primary school weekend art club. Hong Kong was hot, we had a lot of flowers so we learned how to use resin to keep their beauty and framed it. We used resin to make paperweights, bookmarks, jewellery and pictures.

I miss Hong Kong so I created pictures of it. Now I am living in Brighton and the temperature is similar to Hong Kong. Moreover, I love to walk at the seafront everyday here. It is my new home.

is a Hong Konger and lives in Brighton with her husband, daughter, two chihuahuas and pug. She is a resin, multi media, contemporary and self-taught artist. Passion of art was in her blood, her dream was to be a professional, successful artist ever since she was a child. She was incentivised by winning several awards for her art when she was young in Hong Kong. She was discouraged from attending art school though, ‘‘There’s no money in that and you need to get a job.’’ they said.

She picked up the art brushes to work hard again a few years ago and suddenly got a thought, ‘‘I have to chase my dream. I don’t want to be a famous artist after I die. I am a happy, cheerful, optimistic person. I believe that life line in my palm, I have to control by myself.’’

Most of her life in Hong Kong was living in Clear Water Bay beaches and seafront. her art is inspired by the environment, animals and anything that sparkles with life.

Natasha uses many layers of pigment, resins and it takes her 2months+ to complete a picture in her specially-built temperature-controlled studio. Her wave pictures are organic, powerful and portray lots of energy.
